Don't Hate the Player, Hate the Game.

Now, this is the first, last, and only time we’re gonna talk about this. Got it?

I don’t know what’s up lately, but over the last few weeks I’ve been getting flooded with comments by “Anonymous” people. As a policy, I delete all comments unless they have an author. I figure the rest of us are gutsy enough to put our opinions on the line for all to see, so why should some people get to snark and run? Commenting anonymously on someone’s blog is like throwing an egg at someone from a moving car window. You do it because you’re a big sissy weiner-head and you know damn well if they could catch up with you they would probably kick your cowardly, weak, sissy weiner-head ass. Verbally speaking of course.

So, if you’re writing me comments or questions anonymously, please know that I automatically delete them. Also please note that if you are writing me really nice comments anonymously, I delete those too. I do not support any form of "drive-by commenting". Fair is fair.

Also, if you must write me hate-mail please make it halfway interesting. My time is quite valuable. If I had a nickel for every time someone told me to “get a life”, I could retire from this damn blog already. Dude---don’t be mad at me because my life is so much more rockstar than yours. Get your own damn life and blog about it.

For as a wise man once said: “Don't hate, cause my game's much tighter than yours. Don't hate the player, hate the game.”

Well said! Me, I haven't received any anonymous comments, and no hate mail, but I suppose that's because only five people read my blog. :)

Do you know that blogger allows you to block anonymous comments? It's somewhere on the settings section...

Jen- At least the 5 people that read your blog aren't psychotic. I tend to attract total whack-jobs.

David--I used to block anonymous comments, but then some of my less internet saavy visitors complained so I un-blocked it. I think the time has come to re-block as you suggested.

But....Can't we all just get along?

Oh and just as a side bar, 50% of the time, the anonymous comments are directed at other commentors, not at me. No way in hell am I gonna let some anonymous weiner-head take cheap shots at other visitors and commentors to this blog!

Not...gonna....happen.

Yeah, I'm not down with anonymous comments either-although better nice than mean/rude/condescending/etc. And, I also believe a wise person once said "Save the drama fo yo mama." Those anonymousers...or something like that...need to go elsewhere!

I think your blog rocks. I like to read other peoples crappy drama because my life is so crappy pathetic. Well not all the time, but most of the time. Nice to hear shit happens even in France. Ever run into Ggaspard Ulliel?

Madame K said...

Indeed, shit happens everywhere!

Nope. Haven't run into Gaspard Ulliel yet. Maybe I'll bump into him next time I'm at the Patisserie!

Well said! I have to hit the delete key a couple of times a month. I can't imagine anyone sending you hate mail, envy mail maybe, but not hate mail.

Lick him for me.

Madame K said...

DG- My Gwen Stefani post got me the most hate mail. I'd think the rest of my nonsense is very un-offensive. Maybe it is envy mail after all. But I can't help it that my man is so damn pretty!

Mignon- After I lick him, should I tell him it's from you? Or do I just let him wonder?

Leah- I just e-mailed my momma, and she informed me that she don't want no drama either. What's a girl to do?

Well, sometimes people I know just don't want to get an account, so they leave an anon. comment but then write their names in it...

Madame K said...

Megan- Yeah I had a few family members who couldn't figure out the whole sign in thing so thats why I allowed anonymous comments for so long.

But now a few miscreants have gone and ruined it for everybody!

Grrr!

Don't really matter juat as long as you tell me what he taste like.

Madame K - you are fabulous!

a long ago boyfriend told me I was a "dirtbag magnet" - maybe you suffer from this affliction as well - which is why you get the total whackjobs...

wait. am.. i.. a.. whackjob?

I live in Northern CO - I have a furry husband who sells wine and keeps me well lubricated. I have dairy goats and I milk them 2 x a day... yup. total whackjob.

I stopped allowing anonymous comments a month or two ago - I don't actually mind if people disagree with me or leave nasty comments, but I think they should at least have the balls to own up to it.

If it helps you decide at all, I think blogger just loosened up their comments function a bit and now you can log in with other IDs (google, livejournal, wordpress, etc).

Hey Madame K,
I've been a reader of your blog for a while (I knew Ms. Le tigre in France when she was Ms. Le tigre in melbourne) and I've never said hello. So now I am. I can't believe you get hate mail, and personally after reading your gwen stefani post I thought it was so awesome I wanted to high 5 you. Even though I know that's incredibly uncool, it was more of a "yeah! right on!" kinda thing. Anywho, I placed a link to your blog in my blog cause I always read it now.

And I always enjoy your anecdotes. Especially when they concern the barbie dream house, or that previous one regarding toilets. I realise that you're probably happy not to be praying to various bath/stair gods anymore, but as a reader I miss it.

Damn people! I'm feelin' the love!

Mignon- He looks like he would taste like apples.

Shanster—LMAO@ well lubricated. Being a whack-job magnet is a tough job, but somebody’s gotta do it. Speaking of jobs----Get to milkin’! I need cream for my coffee.

Sam- I officially changed my settings yesterday. I feel as though this blog has reached a new milestone and some level of innocence has been lost. *deep sigh* I’m so melodramatic.

Ms. Moniker- I knew I had some saucy Aussie lurkers out there. And for the record-- high 5’s are frickin’ awesome. Sometimes I make FrenchBoy high 5 me and he despises it. I’m fairly mean to him. Anyway, thanks for chiming in and I’ll do my best to bring you more ridiculous anecdotes from my life….since they are fairly easy to come by.

Hate mail and nasty comments?? Those anonymous people just don't have a sense of humour then!!

I don't leave comments very often but I'm around here lurking quite often, getting cheered up by your witty blog posts! :)

And by the way, I totally loved your Gwen Stephani post as well!

Leah said...

I just saw your reply to my comment...just to clear the air...I meant the save the drama for the Anonymousers' mamas, not your mama!

Madame K said...

lol@Leah.

Fair enough.

I'm flummoxed that people would send you hate mail -- you're hilarious, witty, talented and have such a green-with-envy-causing life -- it's OBVIOUS that they're all just jealous!

Keep making us laugh with your fab sense of humor -- I'm so glad I found you! Oh, and I'll also keep drooling over your gorgeous home... Ahhhhhh...
