Bacardi & Hairy Legs.

By the time you read this I will be driving to the airport. Once again FrenchBoy and I are off for one glorious week at the Amirandes resort on Crete. It was so good last year that we had to go back and do it again.

The only thing we don't like about the place is the price of the coffee. Five euros is a steep price to pay for a lukewarm cappuccino. So, we opted for the most logical remedy. Last week in Paris we bought a travel case for our Nespresso machine so we could take it with us to Crete. Yes. We are taking our expresso machine on vacation.

I haven't packed anything yet, but I figure all I need is my swimsuit, my sunglasses, and a pair of busted flip-flops so everyone will immediately understand that I'm American. I'll pick up a couple of bottles of booze at the duty-free shop at the airport before I board, and that will be that.

Oh speaking of busted. I managed to remedy my Frodo-feet issues with this device, which would just be so incredibly wrong, if it didn't work so damn well. I will finally be wearing my Choos without drawing a crowd of horrified gawkers.

And since our suite has a small private pool, I don't even have to shave my legs. People this is the life!

Epilation be gone! Bring on the Bacardi!

I love my ped egg. If it weren't for that, people would probably mistake my feet for man feet.

Gosh I always wondered who needed a suitcase for their Nespresso machine. Now I know. ;)

Sounds both dreamy and practical all at the same time. I have been wondering about those nespreso coffee makers for an age; brewing my coffee using pre-packaged "pods" just seemed kind of wrong :-), I felt the "proper" way to do it was with fresh beans, etc. Now I know you own one I may go ahead and give it a whirl since I'll be in good company :-).
One of the very few annoying things about spring/summer (in addition to the flies and endless burnt barbecues) is having to present smooth hair-free legs to the world..having ones own private pool is pretty cool.

Megan- Answer: yuppies that are somehow too cheap to pay for hotel coffee. *deep sigh*

Sprite- The pods are recycleable! I take them to my local florist once a week and pick up a bouquet of flowers at the same time. Less garbage plus supporting the local economy with one stone. (or at least that's what I tell myself.)

oh, dry feet. if you're like me try this: after the pedi egg get some Oxy10 pads swipe your feet then put on some lotion. your feet will be as soft as a babies bottom.

enjoy the vacation!

I LOVE the Nespresso travel case. Must get one now.

I can't quite figure out a simple way to recycle the pods. Do you know what they do? It seems a lot of work to open each one...but perhaps I should.

Cherise- They don't have recycling drop off places in the US? Maybe you can take them back to the store where you buy your coffee?

I mentioned this to Frederic today and he said "yes, they recycle them in Europe." Oh. But not here.

We have to buy the coffee online. No shop. Maybe we'll save them for art.
